"I forgot to take it home; I left it at home; it's at my grandma's house;  I turned it in; you must have lost it; someone must have thrown it away."

Bottom line: "It's not my fault."  And, often, it isn't.  Let's face it, a piece of paper can only exist in one place at one time, and, sometimes, it is our fault, not the student's.  All those papers...

In Google Docs, an assignment can exist everywhere at once.  It can be easily found (and shared--with parents, peers, and teachers).

I'll show you how I've moved all my formal assignments to the cloud, and I'll share the system I've developed for students to turn in their polished work on-line to receive feedback and grades.  We'll do a quick skim of my simple! file sharing structure, and take a quick look at different ways to use Docs, Spreadsheets, and Forms to format assignments.

In the Peer Editing session, we'll do a short writing assignment together and I'll run you through the Peer Editing process I use to support student writing with Google Docs.  You'll need to bring your own laptop for this session, and will need to have a google account already set up to save time.
